Neyveli is the largest well-planned Township in Asia. It is an unique large Township owned and maintained by the lignite giant Neyveli Lignite Corporation Limited. M/S N.L.C.Ltd. is a Public Sector Company having mini ratna status. There are two open cast lignite mines, mining 24 million tonnes of lignite per annum and two Thermal Power Stations with a Combined capacity of 2490 MW of N.L.C.Limited at Neyveli.
